The New Moon of the 7th Month was sighted in Jerusalem on September 20, roughly 15 minutes after sundown, Meaning September 21 (beginning at sundown of the previous day) is the 1st day of the 7th Biblical month.
(All Feast Days begin on the evening prior)
Feast of Trumpets, Yom Teruah, will be September 21st
Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, will be October 1st,
Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkoth, will begin on October 6 and ends on Oct 13. Both days being Sabbath Days. .
The new moon in the picture above was taken in Jerusalem outside of the Jaffe Gate. As you can see the sliver which is in the rectangle in the picture is very, very faint. But trust me it's there. It was also seen by a group of roughly 20 other people who were also outside the Jaffe Gate.
